The New James Bond

WHO WILL BE THE NEW JAMES BOND ???

Daniel Craig has signed up for a US TV series, throwing his future as James Bond into doubt.
He will star in Purity, which is set to run for several series of 20 episodes each.
Speaking last year, the 47-year-old actor said he would “rather slash my wrists” than play 007 again after starring in hit movie Spectre, which made £600million at the box office.

It may once again be time for yet another new James Bond.
Especially after Craig's recent comments regarding a possible successor.

When asked who he would like to be the next James Bond,
He replied: “Look, I don’t give a fuck. Good luck to them.”
Daniel has played the Brit spy for a decade, starring in Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, Skyfall and Spectre.

Among those tipped to take on the role are Damian Lewis, 45, Tom Hardy, 38, Henry Cavill, 32, and Michael Fassbender, 38. Idris Elba, 43, has also been touted as the first black Bond.

Purity is based on the Jonathan Franzen novel.
Daniel will play charismatic German Andreas Wolf, who offers to help US woman Purity find her father.
The series, produced by Scott Rudin — who worked with Daniel on 2011’s The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo film — is at the centre of a bidding war between Showtime, Netflix, Amazon and FX.

The current betting is as follows :

Sam Riley 20/1
Highly Unlikely

The Front Runners

 Tom Hardy 6/5

He mumbles far too much we'd need subtitles on every scene.
Has  made so many other varied films you can't really see him tying himself to this franchise at this stage of his career. Although he is older than I thought , he is a very young looking 38.
The birds love him.

 Damien Lewis 7/4

Too gingery for me , and he is always exhaling really long breaths through his hooter
Really gets on your pip once you clock it.

Idris Elba 4/1
He just doesn't move around quick enough for my liking.
He's a big old unit , apparently a diamond geezer in real life and a bloody good disc jockey
But far too cumbersome for this role in my opinion.

Henry Cavill 6/1

Handsome devil this fella , apparently he just missed out last time so it is feasible Barbara Broccoli may go back for seconds .. a good outside bet.

 Aidan Turner 6/1

I have a feeling it could be this fellow Irishman. Although I am probably biased in that regard.
Certainly one for the ladies ...  they were double swooning at him in Poldark

OTHERS WELL WORTH CONSIDERING

Michael Fassbender 14/1

Jamie Doran 14/1

Tom Hiddleston 18/1

 Long Shots

Christian Bale

Colin Farrell

Past Masters
